Whoop whoop!I am doing my happy dance! My California license came in, after months of waiting!! Now the new contract search begins (in crunch time, may I add). California is so big! I narrowed my search down to southern, coastal CA. I really wanted San Diego, but there are currently no jobs there at the moment. 😞 there’s so many things to factor in when looking at a new potential contract: location, hospital credentials, volume, patient ratios, pay, rent prices, crime rates in the city/town. It has taken me hours to research this stuff to narrow my options down to be submitted to a few and see who I get a call back from. I wish it was as easy as pointing on a map and BOOM instant job offer! I am learning slowly that it is not that simple. I am at the mercy of the job market which is ok, but I may have to take a position somewhere decent and visit the cool places, which are nearby, on my days off. So the saga of the travel nurse continues, more to come soon!
